Big, Bigger, Biggest! Written and illustrated by Nancy Coffelt. Henry Holt, HB Fenn, 2009. $18.95 ages 3 and up

"I'm big. I'm large. I'm huge. I'm jumbo. I'm bigger. I'm gigantic. I'm immense. I'm enormous."

And on to biggest! What fun you will have when sharing this book with young children. The bright, cheery animals here depicted are braggarts and proud of it.

I'm moved. I'm excited! I'm inspired.

I'm astonished. I'm astounded. I'm blown away.

I'm electrified. I'm stupefied. I'm flabbergasted.

I'm amazed at the ideas that creative and curious custodians of the English language can conjure when writing books to be enjoyed by children.

I'm dazed by the abundance of terms chosen for this awesome book that helps children understand comparison in animals of all shapes and sizes.

I'm stimulated by an idea that seems so simple, yet can be quite complicated.

I'm enthused to think that it might be used as a mentor text when asking children to brainstorm synonyms and antonyms for their own writing.

I'm thrilled to be sharing it with you tonight!
