"Is there a BIG MEAN DUST BUNNY in your neighborhood?"
I have met the dust bunnies before (rhyming dust bunnies (Simon & Schuster, 2009) and have shared their hilarious story. Last night I found myself laughing out loud and then looking around to make sure no one was watching when I read this newest escapade...a meeting with their resident bully. He's bigger, meaner and out to scare them silly. An invitation to join their rhyming game is met with refusal and fierce intimidation...until the appearance of an oversized cat who proves to be the big, mean dust bunny's downfall. Drat that cat! But Ed, Ned, Ted and Bob know just what to do!
If you know someone just learning to read, you can't go wrong in sharing books like this one. It tells a great story while making a child believe that 'I can read this!'...the first step in the journey toward a lifelong love of reading. I have no hesitation in sending you to the library to ask for other books by Jan Thomas.
